Sergio and his family lived in Seville and Sergio’s mother, Malia, was born in this beautiful place. Very early on Malia’s parents died and she inherited her childhood home, a small but well appointed cozy place with many tiny rooms and fresh flowers everywhere with enough room for her sister-in-law Lupita and her son Ignacio to live there as well. Poor Lupita! No wonder she was so sad - she had lost her husband in a freak accident! Paulo was a tuba player from Brazil and he played Samba music on that tuba. He was one of a kind. Paulo went out one hot evening to play music and stumbled on a large rock. His tuba fell on his leg and broke a bone, Paulo was unable to walk, so he waited and called out but everyone was in the noisy taverna that evening. As the injured man waited to be rescued, a deadly scorpion came upon him and took him to his death. Malia was kind and took in Lupita and her son. The house was a tight fit but everyone got along fine. The family all wanted to teach Sergio how to play and he picked up everyone’s styles like a sponge. He played so well that he surpassed them in his guitar skills!
